May 21st

Caitlin graduated yesterday and the weather was terrible. Raining and in the high
40's. So, she is done! She has her Masters and just got offered a job today which she took! I am excited for her. As for me I am continually pushing forward to get the student/athlete website up. I am still in the begining stages, but this needs to be done if I want to continue with the training. As for training, I just began my 2nd workout cycle. It is definitly easier than the 1st cycle. Here is a taste...18lb x 12 throws 14lb x 10 throws. LIFT (close grip snatch 2x5, plate twists 2x10, bounce bench press 3x5 superset w/explosive push-ups, jump squat superset w/bdy wght explosive jumps). Than head back out for 13lb x 20 standing throws at 80% intensity. This is done 3 days on 1 day off. Fun stuff! My hand is holding strong. The treatment I have been receiving from Sharon "magic hands" Wentworth is amazing. The evolution of the "tape job" has gotten alot better and has taken alot of stress off my wrist. Tommorrow is a warm-up/stretch and get errands done. Later

pork chop sandwiches!

It's been a bit so I thought I would post something. I am still on the 1st cycle of my peak program. However, my wrist is screwed up. I have a calcium deposit that is irratating my tedons. So I was only able to throw twice last week. I am getting treatment from Sharon Wentworth. She has volunteered to help since I was denied treatment from the University...Insurance reasons apparently. I have faith in Sharon and her magic! So, I am being smart and not trying to do anything that will aggrevate it...too much. So, the remaining weeks of May is getting the work in before I compete again the 1st & 2nd weeks of June; tuning myself up for the Olympic Trials on June 27th.

May 2 Princeton life time PR!!!

Well, there is not much to say other than F@CKing finally. Sorry for the language! This was my series today at Princeton: 19.20m, F, 19.54m, 20.19m, F, 20.16m. It was awesome. However, my technique is horrific and needs work. When I hit the throw I just knew it and began to scream like a complete idiot! I have it on film but I do not have the cord to upload it to the computer. So, I will have it up Sunday night. I also will be competing again at the University of Delaware tommorrow morning. I hope I can achieve similar results before my body breaks back down for the rest of the month. Check www.myspace.com/jkalnas sunday night to see the video and hopefully see another good video from Delaware. Well, off to bed!
