Well it's 7am and I have been here at work for two hours. Body aches, bones hurt, earth quakes are making the world dance and all I can think about is taking my nap at 9:30am. After I will practice and then it's back to work till 9pm. Fun times right? This time as given me an opportunity to do alot of brain storming and thinking. I know these next two years are going to be tough with training, but if things go well I will be getting the rest that I need in the 2011-2012 year- if I make it.
Training is in full swing. I am doing a superset type of workouts with no rest and lifts reflect the throws. We are doing this in order for me to cut a few pounds. It's weird, since I started working with Dane Miller of www.garagestrength.com my body has softened up and become more rounded but my throws have increased. What is this telling me? More sports specific movements at consistant high velocities and no more than 20min max in the weight room. Very different then the way I was originally tought. I guess you can teach an old dog new tricks!

QUIT JUST FING QUIT!!!
I started training last week and what a week to start- The humidity was terrible! I will be getting back into the grind today and hopefully have a better outlook on things this week. Being it was the first week last week, my energy was low and negative thoughts began to slip past by defenses and were dragging me down. With the changing of technique, exercises etc. so does the changing of my mental approach. At 29 years old, no solid career and bills things are begining to weigh me down. I think if I can struggle through the next two years with good training then 2011-2012 will be the final year and hopefully the best. Monmouth University kids will be back in session soon so that will keep me occupied at practice a few days out of the week, but as of now it's me and the 'heat stress monster.' Hope I can hang in there a bit longer.

Just want to Relax
I have not posted in a while because nothing exciting is going on. It's the time of the year to sit back and relax, so I am taking a month off of training before I start back up again in August. Since I have not trained, I have noticed a couple of things going on within my body. My hamstrings have been bugging me and I have had a head ache for 2+ weeks now. I call it exercise withdrawl. During this time life troubles, aka my car, have arisen, so I have been doing alot of reading and repairing to my car. When one thing goes wrong everything goes wrong. My day of relaxing has now turned into pulling the computer out of my car and running diagnostics to locate the proplem. Fun stuff, and the car needs to be inspected by Saturday, so it's crunch time. Also, things are moving forward with Jersey Trash Clothing, revamping the website, getting new designs up and in talks with some bands for sponsorship- another project (a big one!) is underway and I will be meeting with the Investor for lunch tommorrow. I am excited about that. Well, back to work.

Eugene...done!
US Nationals did not go well at all. Of course I learned a huge detail when it comes to training which will be greatly noted for future use! I excited my nervous system too early in the week allowing my body to respond greatly on Fri/Sat but was absolutely down on Sunday. This is the 2nd time this year that I went to US Nationals (indoor then outdoor) and was flat. It was impossible to get an adrenaline rush. That's whats crazy about this sport. Everything needs to be perfect. There is no "man-handling," there is no geting pumped up or thinking of cues. It's graceful with alot of force being applied and it needs to be done within .5 seconds. If the nervous system is not there, the shot will not go. If the nervous system is not there the juices will not flow...I have done this a few times in the past and it has become an occuring event.... I need to really learn from this. I will be competing at the Club Championships in 2 weeks in NY, taking a week off and then starting up the training again. I hope to throw decent at this meet in 2 weeks..we'll see! In the meantime I will be focusing more energy towards Jersey Trash Clothing and a new supplement project. Later!

At the Garage
Well this is the week. US Nationals are taking place in Eugene Oregon and I will be competing Sunday. I am currently in Reading Pa. working with Dane Miller of Garage Strength. Training today went okay. We forgot the tape to measure the end throws but I believe they were at 61, Dane feels they are at 63. If they are at 63, that would be a good sign. As the week goes on I improve in distance. Well, I have one more day here of training then I head back in NJ for the flight out on Thursday morning. Of course I will be representing Jersey Trash Clothing this weekend. Read more at Jersey Trash Clothing News to see who we are also sponsoring! Keep your head on a swivel.

June 8th 2009
The NJ International Meet was a success! This year there were 18+ Open Men's shot putters with the throws ranging from 53-66+ feet! Rhueben Williams who is currently training in Georgia with Reese Hoffa hit a lifetime PR at 20.25m (66.6) and I hit a second lifetime best of 19.91m (65.4) This roughly puts me 11th or so in the country leading into the US T&F Championships in Eugene Oregon. Now the main thing for me to do is work on hitting my best throw in the first six throws of practice and to get some rest. With my work schedule being inconsistant it is hard to keep my sleep pattern consistant. SO, I am figuring that problem out as we speak. Also, Jersey Trash Clothing is currently sponsoring the band APRILMAY www.myspace.com/aprilmaynj and Daniel Gray www.danielgrayworld.com so check them out... and we are currently waiting to hear back from The Warp Tour! Now back to work!

Arizona Long Snapping & shot putting
I was suppose to fly out Thursday but the flight was over sold and I was stuck in here until Friday. Once I got out there I had to immediately drive to Arizona State University and workout with Coach Zauner. I was skeptical on what would happen after sitting on a plane for 4.5 hours and rushing around. As I snapped he noticed my technique change 3 times (which is not a good thing) Once he showed me the technique I was able to get off some good snaps. "I have good speed and strength but being 29, teams usually go with the younger guys." I have 3 weeks to work on my form then I will contact Coach Z. This is his reputation so for him to make calls on my behalf he has to believe that I can do it. So, as of now its 50/50 as for him helping. We'll see. I wish I would have played ball in College and never picked up this damn shot...snapping is alot easier! Later that day I went to John Godina World Throws Center where I got a quick workout in. After this day I was physically and mentally in the shitter! Saturday I made the trip down to Tuscon for the Tuscon Elite Meet. It's great to be around people who are just crazy athletic looking and intense in what they do. It rubs off! I felt good other than a tired lower right back and right leg. I ended up hitting 63.5ft (season best) with 2 fouls a bit further. With one more meet before the US Nationals in Oregon, I am really trying to focus on technical aspects of the throw. It sucks being back in "reality." I am staying positive though. With Jersey Trash Clothing moving forward and the production of an amazing supplement in the works by my college buddy Mike Allen and myself...the future is looking good. Maybe I will be able to make it to more events!
