Not a very practical exercise for javelin throwing. Why? The sport involves throwing a light object fast, unilaterally, in both the sagittal and transverse planes. So the exercise should mimic that. Instead it's lifting heavy, bilaterally, and only in the sagittal plane. Not a bad exercise, just not the best choice for the sport.
